Virtual Rank at Edinburgh Airport

Virtual Rank is a feature in the driver app that is a fair way of dispatching jobs from the airport on the FREE NOW app, it can also keep you up to date with how many drivers are checked in.

 

Here's how it works:

  • You will see an airport icon in your FREE NOW app either through looking at the FREE NOW driver app map or you will be prompted with the image below, please head towards the aeroplane icon.

  • As soon as you enter the airport waiting area you will be prompted to join the Virtual Rank, touch the "Join queue"-button in your app to access. This can be seen in the image below with the centre point on Almond road.

  • Once you have joined the queue you must stay within the waiting area, outlined in grey (image below). You will only receive new job notifications when you are in the waiting area outlined in grey. Once you exit this area, you will be removed from the queue.

  • When you reach the front of the virtual rank, you will receive the next job going from Edinburgh Airport on the app.

  • The pickup point still remains the same in the multi-story car park.

  • You can see at any time how many taxis are in the queue by clicking the airport sign in the map in your FREE NOW app. 

 

To use the feature, you will need to restart the Driver app.
