SumUp

What is happening?

FREE NOW will be ceasing official partnership with SumUp.

What will change for me?

Very little will change for you, however FREE NOW will no longer be paying the fees for your card transactions you process with your SumUp card reader.

When will this change?

Your account will be deactivated automatically. Please check the email for the date of your particular deactivation as this will be done on a staggered basis. Your account will be deactivated between 8am and 12pm on the deactivation date. After 12pm you will be welcome to create your new account.

My account has been deactivated, now what?

Please sign up for a new account here under a sole-trader entity. Make sure you are entering your personal information on the signup process. The sign up process will take you a couple of minutes to complete.

Once you have your new account details, you can log into your account through the SumUp app immediately and begin to take payments just as you normally would.

What will this cost me?

SumUp are offering 30 days 0% on ALL transactions from the date you create your account. If you choose not to use your account within the first 30 days, you will lose the offer. Thereafter fees will cost you 1.69% for each transaction.

Can I create my new sole-trader SumUp account before my FREE NOW SumUp account is deactivated?

Yes, this is possible. You would be required to send an email to support@sumup.co.uk from your email address registered, requesting your user email address to be deactivated. You would then receive an email confirming this is done. Only after you have received a confirmation email can you then go ahead to create your new sole-trader SumUp account.

Please note, SumUp cannot deactivate accounts over the phone.

How will I get paid?

You will be paid directly from SumUp to your bank account. During the signup process you will be required to enter your bank account details for payment.

SumUp operates a 1-day payout, so you will get paid quicker for your transactions as you previously did from FREE NOW.

Do I need to buy a new card reader?

No, your card reader will still work with a new account.
