How to ride felyx eMopeds with FREENOW

You’ll need a driving licence to ride a felyx eMoped. Luckily, it’s really easy to validate your licence – just follow the instructions on screen. Plus, you’ll only need to do it once.


Already done it? Just skip this step!

Open your app and go to the ‘2-wheels’ tab to find your closest eMoped on the in-app map. Tap it and slide to start the rental.

Once you’ve unlocked, here’s what you need to do before hitting the open road...

1. Open the storage box by pressing the red button at the back. Grab a helmet, put it on and fasten it. If you’re carrying a passenger they need to wear one too!
2. Take your eMoped off the kickstand by firmly pushing the handlebars forward with both hands. 
3. Press the ‘Start’ button while pulling the right brake lever to start the moped.
4. Adjust the mirrors so that you can see everything around you and make sure the lights are on. We’re ready to go!
5. Want to speed up? Firmly turn the throttle towards you.
6. Time to slow down? Just squeeze the right brake lever.

• Be attentive: watch out for large vehicles, do not drive in blind spots and always be focused on and aware of your surroundings, traffic and pedestrians.
• Use your indicators at all times.
• ALWAYS wear a helmet – this is mandatory for both you and your passenger. 
• Please obey local traffic laws and look at the signage.
• Never drink and ride. If you need to get home after a drink or two, switch tabs and take a taxi or Ride instead.

Want to do some quick grocery shopping or grab a coffee during your rental? No problem! You can leave your eMoped in park mode. Just pull over, open the FREENOW app and tap ‘Park’ – the helmet box will be locked, and the moped secured, so no one else can rent the eMoped whilst you’re away. When you’re ready, simply tap “Continue trip” and you’re good to go!

To end your trip, park the eMoped inside the business area marked on the map. Push the kickstand down, place the helmets in the storage box and lock it. Open the app and tap the “End rental” button.

Make sure to find a suitable spot for your eMoped and be considerate when parking. Watch out for no-parking signs and DO NOT block sidewalks, bike or bus lanes, private entryways or driveways. Local authorities may fine you if you don’t follow these parking rules.
